Carrie MacGillivray leads for IDC’s global IoT and mobile research. Carrie co-founded the Internet of Things research domain at IDC in 2012 and is responsible for leading thought leadership on this evolving market. She works with IDC’s global IoT team consisting of technology and industry analysts to drive research on the supply and demand elements at play in the IoT market. In 2016 and 2017, Carrie was named one of the top 100 influencers in IoT. With a long career as a mobile analyst, Carrie also leads IDC’s mobile research team, which examines the elements of the mobility market and how it continues to play a critical role of enabling innovation accelerators.
Prior to joining IDC, Carrie was a research analyst at Yankee Group in its enterprise research group covering enterprise mobility and general telecommunications trends. Previously, Carrie worked as a business analyst with Nortel Networks and as a management consultant with Fujitsu Consulting.
