On Tuesday, November 19th, GTAN members, entrepreneurs and special guests, including students and professors from the University of Waterloo’s School of Accounting and Finance and The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, gathered at Bingemans for the November Investor Meeting.

Attendees heard pitches from three early-stage companies: BlockAble, LiTTLE CANADA and Synergy Disc.

The first pitch of the evening came from BlockAble. Enterprises spend close to $3 billion per year verifying hires and BlockAble has developed a technology to disrupt and expand this market by eliminating third parties. BlockAble uses source verified credentials to create a digital, tamper-proof copy that is instantly available to employers directly from the user.

The second pitch of the evening came from LiTTLE CANADA. LiTTLE CANADA will take its guests on a magical journey of discovery through Canada in miniature scale. LiTTLE CANADA will be located in the heart of Toronto and will open with five miniature destinations; Little Niagara, Golden Horseshoe, Toronto, Ottawa and Petit Québec, plus a sixth destination, Little North, which is under construction. LiTTLE CANADA plans to open a new destination every year.

The final pitch of the evening came from Synergy Disc. Synergy Disc addresses the unmet needs surrounding the treatment of Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD). SDRi’s technology is the only world-wide artificial spinal disc implant which combines movement with alignment correction in the neck. Synergy Disc’s artificial disc replacement prosthesis provides alignment control along with motion preservation, increasing the addressable patient population by 60%.
